Griffin Mountain, part Three (Session Zero).
Now I had a game system (OpenQuest rpg), a setting (Griffin Mountain), and I needed players. I started by recruiting from the Rainbow OSR server. After a couple of days I started posting on other servers. I got several folks who were looking for Runequest games, but the mention of Griffin Mountain pulled them in. OpenQuest appealed to people who looked at it as well. I found six people who were both interested and able to meet on the days/times. Several more were interested but unavailable. I talked to a long time gamer who recommended I use online safety tools to prevent any triggers to avoid triggering people. I had bad experiences myself so those were added to Session Zero. Session Zero went extremely well, I was worried that no one would want to talk about online safety. We also covered choices people had to make for skills and magic (in OpenQuest every one uses spells). I got sheets from four of my five players (One person couldn't attend due to illness). I made some server updates and corrected the Character sheets received. I plan to send them back to the players today. Shout out to B.t.B for advising me to use online safety tools.
