Notes on a Game that Succeeded (Part two of a game that failed).

After my first attempt at Runequest 2/Classic failed I was actually sad and more than a bit depressed. I contacted the Official Chaosium Discord server and talked about it. People were really supportive and asked a lot of clarifying questions. I saw first that I needed to recruit players before making making all the pre-generated Character for the game because they would make their own! That would shift a ton of work off me, and the players would probably enjoy having something they rolled/picked themselves. Second, after talking to some more people someone found a Source pack for sale online that had a lot of RQ Classic pre-rolled characters and NPC's. Third, people suggested I just use the RQG character sheets and have everyone ignore (or place zero) in all the unused skills, runes, and passions. People did recommend that I think of GMing a RQG game if I was going to bolt on runes & passions. After some thought I decided to go full on 2nd ed./Classic and leave runes & passions off. So I merrily went off after thinking about all of this, and placed a Looking for Game ad on the server. I had my first player in One hour. I created my server for the new game, and invited my player the next day. When I wrote this my mood had lifted. Don't give up hope, find communities that support you.
