Our crew started a little light, three of us (Angus, Octopod, and I) were exploring our first undersea hexagon (which we planned to chart). We were surprised by the arrival of a Stingray (post hoc Jet Sr./NPC), we were making diplomatic contact when another Stingray (Jet Jr./aggie) shook himself out of the sand.

Suddenly things turned violent between the Stingrays, it was tail to tail combat between the two! Not being able to distinguish the difference between the two our group watched horrified as the drama of apparently father vs. son fighting enfolded.

Jet Sr. (now played by aggie) emerged victorious! Octopod Airbreather (nobody) took the corpse's sting and part of the tail as weapon, we took the corpse for food to feed our growing reef. We continued on our way for a while, and we were joined by Daggertail Fuzzmouth (Oldhawkeyes) another Stingray. We then encountered a group of 10-12 Stingrays unknown to us!

Jet Sr.(aggie) immediately hid in the sand, we hid the spoils of the combat and talked to the strange Stingrays. They were looking for a murderer they claimed. We replied that we knew nothing, and they left to continue searching.

We continued to travel and chart Hexagons, until we encountered a massive gliding shadow...A Blue Whale! Fear shook my little Axolotl body! Daggertail tried talking to the whale in Whale talk, and was surrounded by bubbles. (I was hiding on the ocean's floor as this played out.) The Whale spoke, "You Should not talk to Mountains!!!", it said.

At this point Daggertail and the others spied something in the Whale's eyes, the glow of Nanites! Delicious Nanites of Power!

As soon as the Whale turned away from the group Daggertail conceived of a mad, and brilliant plan! KILL THE WHALE!

Gathering as a group quickly they (I hid on the bottom of the Ocean) struck the Whale from above and behind. Again, and again like a group of hungry sharks they attacked the Whale!! Both at it's eye's and it's Blowhole.

Astonishingly they were damaging the whale badly! The group clung to the whale's body (in Octopod Airbreather's case) or swam directly into it's blowhole.

That was when the Whale began to ascend to the Hated Surface (that alien place). The Whale air bubbled several members of the group and then brought them into it's mouth as it rose.

Again the amazing happened and our Heroes of The Reef struck the Whale inside it's own body. Hitting it again and again, by Stingers and Claw, they injured the Beast.

Then the whale began to dive, but it was too late...The Heroes had felled the Dragon of the Seas!!!

Investigating the body after prying themselves out of it, they found several Nanites of Power glittering and glowing, like beautiful, wonderous shiny (delicious) objects!!!

I had started swimming to join the group when I could sense the kill, but I was no match for the Whale's speed. I could only look on as all this transpired.

As our Group continued to search their prize, four dangerous, large Sawfish approached...and they wanted the Whale's corpse for themselves! Pivoting on a fin Daggertail Fuzzmouth offered them as much as they wanted...if they showed us (notice how it's us now) what was in the Whale's stomach.

The Whale's stomach produced a couple of bizarre objects we could only imagine as belonging to the (Hated!) alien surface. A hard, long instrument that Octopod Airbreather took as a weapon, and a clear shell of some bizarre kind (Octopod took this also, and set it over it's eye's...weird!?!).

We also ate the Nanites in the Whale (sooo wonderful). Jet Sr. ate two of biggest Nanites, and looked at once more menacing. Daggertail Fuzzmouth ate one large Nanite and also became (more) frightening. They let me eat two Nanites!!! I was so thankful, but my vision was obscured by swimming colors and lights, I was rendered speechless. New dreams of power coursed through my mind. I know someday I will understand these dreams. We returned to the reef somehow stronger, more dangerous, and eager for more power.
