The Pavis and Big Rubble group, play report/notes. Session Five.

This will be the briefest notes I can outline for this session. I also want to talk about what worked as a GM/DM in the session.

Jantos Redspear (B.R.), and Arax (C.), were lunching with Fleeter Neem. (I opted to say that a street urchin was hired to fetch) Bala (P.) joined them at the Temple of Pavis for lunch, and dancing. (Sequester [T.] was on vacation and couldn't make the session, he sort of hung out in the back.)

Fleeter Neem offered the party a job to find out why the ritual was attacked (last session). (I also noted that a piece of information the group picked up was that the head of the Temple had survived an assassination attempt recently.)

The idea of an official investigation was mentioned which Fleeter Neem (NPC) demurred on. Instead he gave the party a small amount of money to use to find out more information. The party discussed where to go to obtain information and decided on the Famous Gimpy's (I didn't come up with this) bar.

The party spent several, in game, hours at Gimpy's to find out that a person called "The Rat" maybe a information source. I as the GM reminded the Players that they had an in with the powerful Ingili family in Pavis' riverside. They
contacted Homar Ingili, and he hinted that he could get questions to "The Rat".

Arax was able (after a critical memory check) to vividly describe two of the people who incited the riot to Homar. Within an hour, Homar was able to tell the party that in fact the people in question were not Darkness cultists. They were low level criminals in Pavis Bad side section (across the river from the city). We ended the session there.

Having a loose structure for the sessions, were my players can join when available was awesome. Details had to go by the wayside, and Bala was able to join for a session where Sequester couldn't. Basing the game in a City (Pavis) where the party lives allowed a lot of narrative flexibility. Continuing to have bookkeeping at the start of each session kept RQ 2 somewhat manageable. I also like how the players now have sufficient resources that they need more reminders than anything else how tied into the city they have become. Between the party's connections to the Ingilis, and Fleeter Neem the party has excellent resources.
